Line endings used in Note columns

I was under the impression that Note column text always used the Windows (DOS !) style line ending of CR+LF in both Windows and MacOS edited databases.

I created a simple script that normalizes all note line endings to CR+LF in cases where on LF is found.
When using it against my database, it listed over 3,000 instances that would be fixed, 95% in the DNATable. No symptoms in the RM GUI have been observed.

Now maybe I've been sloppy in my programmatic text modification, or RM is sometimes using LF only.

Any ideas? If no one knows, I'll have to test it myself.

I don't really have an answer to your question.

I'm a Windows user. At various times I have needed to write SQLite scripts to look for and either delete or add "end of line" sequences to notes in my RM database. I have seen LF/CR 100% of the time and I have never seen a bare LF. I don't know if this is because I am a Windows user or because I have just been lucky.

I'm well aware of the UNIX convention of using only LF, and a Mac file system is basically UNIX, well, Linux. I have supported both UNIX and non-UNIX machines in the same data center at the same time. Text files going back and forth with "end of line sequences" that don't match in that environment are a real pain. But sorry, none of this answers your question.

..., or RM is sometimes using LF only.

..., or a mix from pasted notes copied from anywhere?

I'm not aware of any issues from the mix but if you are doing programmatic parsing, maybe there would be.
