Trouble Suggesting Update to Data Dictionary
Quote from thejerrybryan on 2024-12-17, 11:06 amI have a rookie problem of not being able to suggest an update to the RM10 data dictionary. I logged into my google account to make the suggestion, but it wouldn't accept a suggestion. Anything I typed was just ignored. Ideas?
My suggested update had to do with MediaLinkTable.LinkID and MediaLinkTable.SortOrder. It's probably obvious anyway, but I wanted to point out that the LinkID is effectively the default sort order for media links so that the default sort order is the order in which the media links are added. Within a fixed MediaLinkTable.OwnerType and MediaLinkTable.OwnerID, the sort order is effectively ORDER BY MediaLinkTable.SortOrder, MediaLinkTable.LinkID. Because SortOrder defaults to zero, the actual sort order defaults to LinkID.

Quote from Tom Holden on 2024-12-17, 12:11 pmI wonder if you accessed the correct spreadsheet:
- ...
- Add comments or suggest updates:
- Open the RM10 Google Doc link
- Navigate to the appropriate cell
- Right click and select the “Comment” option
I've checked the Share settings: anyone can comment but your "TheJerryBryan" account is an Editor. If you still have issues, please contact the owner, @kmclarnon

Quote from Kevin McLarnon on 2024-12-17, 1:29 pmThanks for checking the doc settings Tom. I'm tied up for the next couple of days but saw Jerry's post and should be able to follow up by the weekend.
Jerry, If Tom's reply doesn't get you sorted, I'll add your suggested update when I get a chance and then we can figure out how to get your access right once things settle down for me. One additional item to note is that while you should have edit access to the doclink Tom posted, there is a manual process to push edits from that doc to the spreadsheet that is embedded in RM10 Data Dictionary website page. I believe only Tom and I have access to the actual doc embedded on the website. (yeah, the control freak in me was having a strong day when I set that page up.)
